The Amanda Cook Band
“Between her gorgeous singing, strong songwriting and the creative instrumental prowess….this (album) is a powerhouse musical statement”
Amanda Cook is a true Bluegrass industry trailblazer not only as an artist, vocalist, and band leader, but also as owner of Mountain Fever Records and now a Director on the IBMA Board. There can be no better way to describe this proud Virginian, then by peer reviews of her recent album “Restless Soul”:
“(It) dazzles. It’s a collection of well-crafted songs by some of the best in the Bluegrass biz, beautifully and soulfully sung, backed by a kickin’, mashtastic band. ”
“As down to earth as the lyrics in her songs, Amanda Cook continues soaring to new heights in her music. She’s truly an artist who’s stayed the course and remained true to her sound”
By the way, that “kickin’ mashtastic” band includes Amanda’s long-time collaborator Carolyne Van Lierop on 5 string banjo. From Erwin TN, Carolyne started up the band with Amanda in 2013 bringing with her years of performing with such groups as The Rivertown Girls. In 2016, Arkansas native George Mason on fiddle joined up bringing many years of performing with such Opry stars as Jeanie Sealie and Charlie Louvin. Joshua Faul from Gulfport, Mississippi joined up to hold the bass line in 2017 after several years playing with Delta Reign. More recently, Chevy Watson, from Sevierville TN on guitar, joined after playing with such groups as Seth Mulder and Midnight Run. Also joining more recently is Ethan Church, of Newland TN on mandolin, who carries the next gen torch as a recent graduate of the renowned East Tennessee State University Bluegrass Program.
