Common Ground

We are thrilled to bring Nova Scotia’s new favourite band to this year’s RiverCity table.  Featured in the glossy spring edition of Bluegrass Canada, Common Ground is a group of seasoned musicians who came together in 2024 over a deep of love of the tradition.  There is no conflict here when it comes to selecting the set list.  Whether it be Flatt and Scruggs, JD Crowe, or Alan Munde, this group is the real deal. 

Juggling family life, work and music has made the formation of Common Ground even more precious.  David Doyle on guitar and crisp lead vocals also farms and runs heavy equipment.  Waylon Robicheau, on mandolin and harmony vocals is a service manager at a car dealership.  Ryan Dillman, on Scruggs-style banjo is a passional hunter/angler and also a professional driver.  While Jeff McRae holds down a mean bass line and also works search and rescue with the Canadian Air Force.

RiverCity has a fondness for bluegrass musicians from Annapolis Valley (also the home of the Spinney Brothers).  That’s why we’re sure Common Ground will be a rock-solid addition to this year’s offering.
