One of our new Board members, Niall, thought it was time to deep dive into the science of singing. He has lined up a workshop for us with Ron Long who is classically trained with a Master of Music in Opera and Music Theatre. He has worked full time in vocal education for the past two decades, teaching the Estill Method, which takes a science-based approach to voice training applicable to any genre.
In this workshop you will learn about the following:
The physiology of the singing voice (i.e., chest voice, mixed voice, head voice/falsetto) and the various techniques that produce the distinctive sound of bluegrass.
The importance of warm-ups, frequent exercises, and other steps you can take to promote vocal health.
How to improve at least one aspect of your voice.
