Junior Sisk & Friends
Farwell Tour 2027
“I have put together a new bunch of talented young men to help me finish
out 2026 and my farewell tour for 2027. I’m very excited to be bringing
back some old material from my catalog.
This is going to be fun!””
We are thrilled to have Junior Sisk join us on his Farewell Tour. As a proud son of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, Junior is a true legend with one of the most admired voices in bluegrass. He brings raw emotion, timeless authenticity, and a deep respect for the traditional sounds of the Stanley Brothers, Larry Sparks, Dave Evans, and the Johnson Mountain Boys. Making his first mark in the 1990’s as a songwriter for the Lonesome River Band, he soon moved into the spotlight with groups like Wyatt Rice & Santa Cruz and his own Ramblers Choice band. Junior has earned numerous awards including IBMA Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year; and his much-loved 2020 album “Load the Wagon” spent six months at #1 on national charts.
For his final tour Junior has put together a talented group of familiar musicians. Fellow Virginians, Carter Lester on banjo and Mason Wright on fiddle both last performed in the Edmonton area with Seth Mulder and Midnight Run. Also returning is Gabe Hebert of Moncton, New Brunswick on bass who was last at RiverCity 2026 on banjo with Pythagoras. Rounding out the band is Sam Zolla from Connecticut on mandolin with deep bluegrass roots that include The Zolla Boys, Pennsylvania Bluegrass Band and Serene Green.
