Pamela Mae & Doug Ritchie first sang harmonies together in Edmonton’s Riverdale Bluegrass Band, forming a lifetime friendship and shared love of "drop in the bucket" three-part bluegrass harmonies. Doug once spun bluegrass deep cuts on CJSR, and aside from being a golf pro, he still plays banjo, guitar, and writes songs. Pamela Mae tours with folk troubadour Scott Cook playing upright bass and clawhammer banjo.
Despite travelling different paths of late, this duo still has a passion for that high lonesome sound, and they are thrilled to reunite for this “quick and dirty” harmony-finding workshop. They’ll share Michael Daves’ scale-interval method for working out 3-part harmonies—no reading music required. Bring your instrument, your voice, your Do-Re-Mi, and your readiness to learn a method that will help you "stay in your lane" when it comes to your vocal part.
